Geoff Quartermaine Bastin (British/English) is an Agribusiness Specialist, Economist, and Engineer. He specialises in agriculture and agribusiness value chain development and market analysis, with over 35 years of professional work experience in Africa (North, East, and Sub-Saharan), Asia (including Af-Pak and the Far East), and the Middle East (including Iraq, UAE, and Yemen).
This experience includes work on food grains (wheat and rice), horticulture, and livestock. His most recent work has been in China (livestock), (agribusiness policy), Pakistan (food safety) and the Solomon Islands (factory design),
GQB moved to Southeast Asia in 1990 as Regional Manager for Cargill Technical Services. After consulting with the Asian Development Bank for a period, he founded FoodWorks Company Limited in 2004. Other companies followed, and in 2018, the group established FoodWorks Holding UK Limited.
